New friend

We had a change-up in our "Little Man watchers" this week.  Nana was on vacation so Mrs. Michelle was "gracious" enough to watch him on Nana's two days.

Monday:  We dropped him off bright and early; we had to knock on the door to wake her up and had to force her to take him [aka she was out of her house before we were out of the truck and was just a little bit (haha) excited].  He got to say hi to Molly before she went to school.  He played with a lot of different musical instruments like handbells, shakers and tambourines.  He had lots of stories that he told her.  He also discovered how fun it was to pull one wipe after another out of the box!  When we picked him up, they were enjoying the outdoors.

Fisher-Price Little Snoopy
Wednesday:  We dropped him off and Molly greeted us at the door.  He had lots of tummy playtime with her today; he followed her all over the place (he is a fast little guy!).  She shared her hammer and her doggy  (I used to have one of these!) with him - he seemed to like the green part of the tail the best :)  He also got to help with the laundry; his job was to chew on the socks to make sure they were clean.  When we went to pick him up, he was asleep in her arms, all tuckered out from playing.  Before we left, Mrs. Michelle gave him his very own whiffle ball and doggy!

Overall, he seemed to have a great couple of days with Michelle and Molly (and Sarah, too).  He has a new friend in Molly and likes playing with his new-to-him doggy toy (still likin' the tail!).  I love how sociable and interactive he is with others (I believe he gets that from his Daddy) and how easily he "makes friends."  I hope and pray that stays with him as he gets older.  And I'm pretty sure when he was playing with his doggy last night that he said he was very thankful for his new ball and doggy, had a GAZILLION tons of fun at Mrs. Michelle's house and looks forward to doing it again sometime soon (but of course, I'm just paraphrasing)!

Little Giggles

We went to pick up our Little Man from his Nana and Papa's house after work and just loved the soft smile he gave us when he turned around to see who had walked in.  I love that he is happy to see us!  When we got home, I changed him before putting him down for a nap and before I could get his diaper on, he started to roll over.  I was being silly with him, telling him that he was being a goose for trying to get away and he laughed.  I got him giggling by tickling him and blowing on his belly.  What I think is the cutest (and he's been doing it for a few weeks now) is tensing up, putting his hand up and giggling before my hand reaches his tummy for tickling; just the anticipation of what's coming is cause enough for laughter!

I cherish every smile that he gives out and every giggle that rises up from his belly, which, thankfully, is very frequently.  It's fun to watch him get excited and smile over something as little as seeing one of the dogs or the cat (which, by the way, wants absolutely nothing to do with him).  I love when he gives his "hugs," leaning his head toward you to touch foreheads (sometimes ending up as a little series of headbutts!).  He's learning to give "kisses," mouth wide open and very wet, but precious, nonetheless.  Watching him start to copy our actions is so fun.  He now is starting to lean toward and reach up for us and it is so awesome to be needed by him by choice!

I love our happy, affectionate little boy.  What a blessing he is!  The time spent with him is priceless whether we're being silly and laughing or he's sitting quietly in my lap, holding on to my necklace, feeling the charm with his little fingers, just trying to figure it out.

So, here, I begin...

So, here, I begin, albeit 8 months into my motherhood journey.  It was a long, hard, seemingly-endless journey to get to 8 months ago but everything we've endured was purposeful by Nature.  The path we have taken was trodden before us by the One who mapped it out.

It's amazing how one little person has enough power to make a husband and wife a Mommy and a Daddy :). We are so thankful and blessed to have been chosen by the Father to be Forever parents to our Little Man.  He is more of a blessing and joy than I ever could have imagined!  I love watching him grow, learn and discover every day.  I can't give him enough kisses and tell him I love him enough!

My, what a journey we have been on; my, what a journey we've begun!
